Layered Navigation in CMS pages?

Is it possible to implement layered navigation on a CMS page?  If so, how?  Currently, I am placing a category product grid on the CMS page with a 2 column/ left sidebar layout.  However no layered navigation appears.

Curious how I am supposed to implement this.  Appreciate any help.
