Installation of GA4 extensions asks for removal of previous WP tags?

We have the GA Universal GTM extension installed.  We are beginning to migrate to GA4 and now need to install the WeltPixel GA4 GTM extension. 

Documentation says these can run in parallel, however the setup guide calls for deletion of existing WeltPixel tags from GTM prior to importing the new JSON. 

Won't this break existing GAU installation? Can anyone provide more details on proper way to handle this step?

  You need a separate container for the each module

  Note: we are not interested in adding a second GTM container to our site at this time. That can produce a lot of potential conflict and slow down page load times.
