SKU Choice for Google Ads Conversion Tracking
To facilitate product visualization in GA4, we currently use the SKU of the parent products, which has proven to be very effective and is working perfectly.
However, for a more comprehensive integration and inclusion of detailed product information in the AdWords Conversion Tracking TAG, it would be valuable to have the option to use the SKUs of the child products. This is particularly important as the SKU value should match the item_id in our product feed.
In our practice, we chose to use the SKUs of child products because Google restricts the visibility of products without a GTIN (EAN-13 in Brazil). This is especially relevant because parent products do not usually have this information registered in GS1 Brasil.
I suggest that, similar to the option to choose whether to send the ID of the parent or child product to GA4, it would also be important to enable this choice for Google Ads Conversion Tracking.

Thanks for your suggestion, however, more details would be required for us to be able to properly take this into consideration for a future version of the extension.
The Google Ads Conversion Tracking Tag does not, by itself, send product information to Google Ads. In its default state, it only sends the Transaction ID and Conversion Value. The only time product data is sent alongside this tag is when the Cart Data functionality is enabled, which is a feature available in the PRO version of the Google Analytics 4 extension.
When this feature is enabled, the SKU that's sent alongside the conversion data depends upon the main Parent vs Child setting in the extension's General Configuration section.
If you're referring to something else, please feel free to open up a ticket with our Support Team and provide more details about your feature request.
