User Profile Avatar

How can you call the user profile avatar in a custom block?

I always get Fatal error, even when currently logged in with a user signed in with a social profile.

Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function getAvatar() on null in /<magento root>/app/code/WeltPixel/UserProfile/Block/ViewProfile.php:111
