    If events trigger more than once, or don't trigger at all, it's possible you're running into a conflict between the module and your theme or a different extension/customization present on your environment.     If that doesn't work, the recommendation would be to confirm the functionality on a clean Magento instance and start adding your theme, extensions and customizations one by one to see which of those is impacting the functionality, after which you can work with your developer to resolve the conflict.
