A while back, Google placed apps created on their platform into a review process, disabling them temporarily, until the review is finished. Our Google Tag Manager extension uses a Sign In with Google functionality via an app (to connect to the Google API and generate Tags, Triggers and Variables), which went under review as well.
As as a result, the Sign In functionality was disabled for all email addresses, except those that had already been used with the app before. This caused the extension to become unusable for new users. The error shown was the following:
We needed to move fast and develop a new method of allowing our users to generate Tags, Triggers and Variables, so we implemented a JSON Import method, starting with version 1.9.4 of the extension. This involves the extension generating a JSON file based on the Admin Settings, and importing it into Google Tag Manager via the JSON Import functionality, found under the Google Tag Manger Dashboard Admin Section.
If you're experiencing the Sign In error message shown above, make sure you update your extension to the latest version by following the instructions in the documentation. Once you do, you'll find the JSON Generation method under Admin -> WeltPixel -> Enhanced eCommerce GTM Settings -> JSON Export Options:
To properly configure the extension via this method, assure that you follow all the configuration steps listed in the documentation and on the Product Page here.
